First-Time Home Buyers Rebate

Nova Scotia's First-Time Home Buyers Rebate is a rebate equivalent to 18.75 per cent of the provincial portion of the HST or 1.31 per cent of the purchase price of capital stock in a housing cooperative, up to $3000 on newly built homes.

The program is for newly constructed homes only and does not include renovations or conversions from rentals to condominiums.

New Maximum Rebate

On April 3,2012 the government announced that the maximum rebate provided under the First Time Home Buyers' Rebate Program has risen to $3,000 from $1500, effective April 1, 2012. Country Breakfast - at the Chester Basin Fire Hall from 7:30 to 10:30 am. Enjoy bacon, sausage, baked beans, scrambled eggs, toast, juice, tea/coffee. Take-out available.

Breakfast - at the Chester Legion from 7:30 to 10:30 am.

Sunday, April 15
Crib Tournament - at the Chester Basin Legion starting 1:00 pm.

Paul Lucas & Hog the Covers will be playing at the Chester Legion starting 9:30 pm. Members and all guests 19 years and older welcome.

Newfie Breakfast - at the Chester Legion, 7:30 to 10:30 am.

Chester Area Middle School 2nd Annual Spring Market from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Turkey Dinner - at the Chester United Baptist Church from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Enjoy roast turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, carrots, string beans, pie and tea/coffee. Cost is $12. Children under 5 years are free. Take-outs available.
